Delhi

We flew to Delhi this morning and spent most of the day sight-seeing and shopping. Delhi is India's capital and we discovered, after seeing many security guards toting AK-47s at our hotel today, that the kings of Jordan and Bhutan are staying here too! Bill Clinton was here yesterday.

The New Delhi section of the city contains many governmental buildings, statues and beautiful residences. This is a monument to Indians who served in World War I.

This is one of the government buildings. We also visited the famous Chandni Chowk portion of old Delhi where you can buy just about anything - it is now especially known as the place to get fireworks. Today we saw vendors selling items as diverse as complete freshly skinned goats to V-6 engines! Around the corner from here we visited the Jama Masjid mosque, India's largest.
(unfortunately all we took was video in old Delhi)

Off to the Taj Mahal in the morning. Wait till we post a picture of our wheels for this trip!

Hi Hughes-
We checked in at your house yesterday, and everything is fine. While there we met your neighbor David (?) Clark eyeing us skeptically! Seems to be plenty of security around the house! Hope you guys are having a great time.
